How many questions does it take to finish an IXL? ›

Students will need to answer as many as 10 questions correctly in a row to achieve mastery. For most skills on IXL, students will have to complete a minimum of 28 questions to earn a SmartScore of 100. When a student achieves a score of 100 on IXL, you can feel confident that they have truly mastered that skill.

2007. In 2007, we introduced IXL, a groundbreaking platform and curriculum for K–12 math education. IXL gives districts, schools, and teachers everything they need to make a bigger positive impact on learning for every student.

When your child gets a question wrong, their SmartScore will drop, and they will get easier questions. This gives them more time to solidify their knowledge! Your child can keep practicing to increase their score. If their goal is to reach 100, it's always possible!

Score Grid:

Like a digital grade book, this report shows you if students have completed assignments and reached their SmartScore goals across all skills for one or more grades, skills students have practiced, or skills you've suggested.

Fourth grade is displayed as Level F.

Grade level guide: 100 = 1st grade, 200 = 2nd grade, 300 = 3rd grade, 400 - 4th grade, 500 = 5th grade, 600 = 6th grade, 700 = 7th grade, 800 = 8th grade, and 900 = 9th grade. By clicking on the IXL image above or the word IXL, students will be forwarded to the log in page.

These levels range from 0-1300, with 0-50 representing pre-K, 50-100 kindergarten, and 1300 representing the end of 12th grade. When students have completed their diagnostic, they can also check their own levels by visiting the Assessment tab. Page 5.

Teaching students with ADHD, dyslexia and other learning differences requires a highly individualized approach. High school math teacher Barbara Knight found that implementing IXL Math and the Real-Time Diagnostic in her classroom was key in differentiating instruction for students with special needs.

Is IXL infinite? ›

Infinite! There are over 8,500 skills and unlimited computer-generated questions, so there's always fresh and compelling content! With IXL's unique scoring algorithm, questions adapt to the student's skill level to ensure the student is constantly challenged and engaged.

One of the key use cases of IXL Learning is its ability to help students master topics and practice questions outside of the classroom. By tailoring the practice based on their strengths and weaknesses, IXL Learning provides personalized learning experiences for each student.

Diagnostic scores on IXL correspond to grade levels. A score of 500 indicates readiness to begin working on 5th grade skills. As soon as a student has finished diagnosing, you'll have immediate insights waiting for you in IXL Analytics.

IXL Diagnostic scores are scaled such that scores correspond to grade levels. For example, a score of 350 indicates that the student has acquired about 50% of third-grade material, whereas a score of 400 indicates that the student is ready to learn fourth-grade material.

IXL's Real-Time Diagnostic pinpoints students' grade-level proficiency in key math and English language arts strands in just 45 minutes per subject.

It only takes about 45 minutes to get full diagnostic results in one subject.

Overall levels are provided to parents to help track student growth. The overall level comes in a score such as 540, which would mean the student has mastered 40% of grade 5 math skills. Normal year to year progress is 100 points.
